  I have been loyal to our Oviedo Pet Supplies Plus since they opened. They've always been super welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They have great prices, and I love that they give discounts to first responders. I always donate a couple bags of treats or cans of food for animals in need since they are so generous with their discount. My experience today, however, turned me from a loyal customer to a customer who will no longer shop at any Pet Supplies Plus store. I purchased a crate a couple weeks ago for our collie to use in a hotel during an upcoming trip. Two days later, we found out she has cancer and her remaining lifetime can likely only be measured in days, not weeks. We cancelled our trip, and I went in to return the crate today. IT WAS COMPLETELY SEALED, NEVER OPENED. The crate was large so I went in the store to get a cart. The gentleman at the door asked if he could help me, and I mentioned I was returning a crate. His smile quickly faded. When did you buy it? Has it been opened? I told him the girl at the register told me I could return it within 30 days if we didn't open it. He said the manager was not accepting returns because people were buying items like crates before the hurricane, using them, and returning them. I'm sorry people take advantage like that, but this box was completely sealed and intact. I brought it in to the store and the manager, R****, who has always joked and talked with me in the past, completely treated me like a criminal. They checked that box with eagle eyes and finally agreed to give me a refund. She then asked in a snotty attitude if I was going to donate to help animals displaced from the hurricane since I was getting a refund. In my head I was thinking, "Not after the way you've treated me." I politely declined and will donate in other ways now. I never lost my patience, thanked them and kept a smile on my face, but I sat in my car crying for 15 minutes afterward. You guys showed your true colors today. I will not step foot in there ever again and will drive 1 mile further to another pet store for our other pets' needs.
